In total, the setting of the venue is surrounded by over 700 acres of enchanting woodlands. All of which are situated against the banks of the Ipswich River. This setting gives the venue its private, tucked-away feeling. It evokes a sense of tranquility distinguished by its flourishing topiaries and extensive display of blooming florals.

Kristal & Taylor’s Willowdale Estate Wedding

Kristal and Taylor’s Willowdale Estate wedding took place just before the start of summer. The timing was impeccable, and the weather allowed for an open-air wedding ceremony followed by a tented reception celebration. Wedding ceremonies at Willowdale Estate typically take place behind the estate home, in the venue’s courtyard. This secluded space features the backdrop of the stone architecture as you recite your vows. Additionally, the courtyard is accented by an abundance of greenery in every direction. Creating a bucolic setting for a wedding that feels like a daydream.

When I arrived at Willowdale Estate for Kristal and Taylor’s wedding, they were busy putting the finishing touches on their attire. Taylor was fastening his cufflinks while receiving a helping hand with his boutonniere. Meanwhile, Kristal slipped into her dress with the assistance of her wedding party.

Throughout the planning process, I discussed the idea of Kristal and Taylor exchanging a first look before meeting down the aisle. They were both excited at the thought of seeing each other for the first time through a private moment before their ceremony began. It was a beautiful way for them to ‘steal’ some time together. Soaking up the importance of their day, in each other’s presence, before their events began.

Their wedding ceremony proved to be momentous. There were readings by honored guests, and exchanged vows with heaps of laughter. Though the setting at Willowdale Estate is abundant and lush, Kristal and Taylor enlisted the help of their florist to create a beautiful deconstructed floral arch. Brimming with soft, watercolor-toned florals, their arch added to the overall romantic feeling of their wedding day.

Once they were pronounced as married, and with their guests enjoying a palatable cocktail hour, I worked with Kristal and Taylor to capture noteworthy wedding photos on the grounds of Willowdale Estate. The expansive setting of the venue presents an opportunity to capture a variety of portraits, with your love story at the center of it all.

With their portrait session complete, it was time to join their guests for a tented wedding reception. They emerged on the dance floor to a round of applause from loving friends and adoring family members. All in all, the evening was spent in celebration, with unforgettable moments on the dance floor, side by side with the people that they love the most.
