I offer the families I work with two distinct options for Newborn photography in Boston. An at-home experience, or the ability to capture their newborn in a studio setting. The session featured below brought together Mom, Dad, and their precious baby girl for a day filled with memories as a brand new family of three.

Studio Newborn Photography Boston
Some of the parents I work with as a Boston newborn photographer find comfort in welcoming me into their home. Others prefer the experience of stepping into a studio, as a family, to capture the magic their sweet baby has brought into their lives.
Truthfully, there are pros and cons to both an in-home and an in-studio experience. If you’re torn on whether a studio or in-home photoshoot is right for your family, read my Complete Guide to Boston Newborn Photography. In it, I detail the advantages of each setting to help you make the right decision.
Undeniably, a studio setting offers a bright, wide-open space to capture your family. There’s no need to worry about piles around your home. Or, how your pet might react to having a stranger arrive so soon after welcoming home your newborn.
Studio newborn photography in Boston can be a stress-free experience. One that won’t leave you racing around your home, hiding laundry bins, or moving things that might be in the frame. The space I work in is open, clean, and safe for you, your newborn, and the rest of your family to visit. Thus allowing us to focus on what’s most important. The sweet details of your precious baby, while they are still so small.

Helping You Prepare for Newborn Photos
Making the decision to step into this photoshoot, so soon after the birthing experience, is one I know many parents do not take lightly. Though it is called a newborn photoshoot, it is equally important that Mom and Dad get some camera time too. Oftentimes, this can fill parents with apprehension about what to wear and how to pose.
In order to help families prepare, I provide them with a skimmable guide on how to get camera-ready. In it, one of the things I discuss, for Moms, is the option of selecting clothing from my client’s closet. I also talk about whether or not professional hair and makeup is the right choice.
For the session featured here, Mom chose a beautiful dress from my client closet featuring watercolor florals and ethereal bell sleeves. She also worked with Sarah Lord on professional hair and makeup. She was absolutely glowing through each and every image. Feeling her best allowed her to focus on the time she spent that day with her precious baby, swaddled in her arms. Dad wore a button-down white shirt and gray khakis. Beautifully complementing Mom’s neutral-toned attire.
The focus of our time together was to document them as they embark on this new season of life together. It was filled with forehead kisses, snuggles, and one sleepy newborn who gave me the biggest (little) stretch imaginable.
