S+T had an early Spring wedding at the Beauport Hotel. We have had an extremely rainy and cold April, but they got a day that was mid 50’s and cloudy. The weather surrounding their wedding day was rain, rain and more rain/cold weather – I stalked the weather the whole week hoping it didn’t turn and it didn’t!
Most of my couples are referred to me through past brides or friends of friends. Shannon and I found out pretty quickly that we have many connections, which is pretty funny. I also photographed TJ’s sister wedding during COVID, so I got to know his family very well during that time. It’s always so nice to see past brides and family again.
TJ and Shannon have the most adorable 1 year old daughter, Quinn who basically stole the show. She is so easy going and went with the flow. The mother of the groom MADE Quinns cute little dress (I’m obsessed). TJ and Shannon also had ALL seven of their nieces and nephews in their wedding and you’ll see from these images that they all were perfect little angels. Having little kids in weddings is no easy task, but these kids made it look easy.
Why having a Spring wedding at the Beauport Hotel is such a great idea
The Beauport Hotel is located on the North shore of Boston in Gloucester, MA. The hotel is located right on the Atlantic ocean and offers beautiful views. They have a deck, where the ceremony is located and off to the side is a small covered deck. The covered deck is a great option for portraits if you end up with rain on your wedding day. The phrase “April showers bring May flowers” is absolutely true, so if you plan to get married in April make sure to have a back up plan! Luckily S+T didn’t have rain on their wedding day, but the days surrounding them were!
GETTING READY LOCATION
This is something I stress to my brides since I do spend at least an hour or 2 of my day documenting the detail shots and everyone getting ready. The guest rooms at the Beauport offer great light and are perfect for getting ready portraits and detail shots. I love that every room had a hook to hang her gorgeous wedding dress on. This is something that is such a small detail, but it makes a huge difference for your photos! Shannon had not 1, but 3 rooms that were combined! Being able to move around and have a spot that is clear of clutter is a photographers dream.
