When should I book my maternity photoshoot in Boston?
As a maternity photographer, this has to be my top frequently asked question. Honestly, it’s never too early to book your photoshoot. I typically work with expecting parents right around 28-32 weeks. This period of time is perfect because it allows you to move freely throughout the session without discomfort. If we schedule your photoshoot later in the pregnancy, you may experience swelling or fatigue, which can potentially contribute to a less-than-enjoyable session. Additionally, if we try to capture stunning maternity photos too late in your pregnancy, we risk the potential of your baby making their arrival prior to the session.
Can my family join the fun throughout the session?
My approach to maternity photography in Boston combines lifestyle photos with an heirloom-quality experience. I highly encourage your spouse, children, and even your furbaby to join the session. Our primary focus will be on celebrating your sweet baby before their arrival, and that includes all family members. If you have a special item for the baby, I also encourage you to bring that along to your session.
What should we wear to the photoshoot?
Above all, your comfort level and confidence are most important. Throughout your photoshoot, you’ll want the flexibility to move freely so that we can focus on beautiful images that celebrate your body. However, of equal importance is how confident you feel when you step in front of the camera. As a mom, I understand how wonderful, exciting, and sometimes strange it can feel to carry a child. Your body undergoes many changes, some more welcome than others. You’ll want to find attire that makes you feel like the best version of yourself while showing off your bump. This can be belly-baring crop tops and sports bars. Or, it can be a free-flowing dress with floral prints, lace, or no embellishments at all.
How long after the maternity photoshoot can I expect to receive the images?
You can expect to receive your photos through an online gallery within three weeks of your session date. These galleries are completely secure and require pin access in order to view the images.
Once our baby arrives, can we work with you on newborn photos?
Absolutely! Many of the families I work with choose my ‘babys first year’ package. This allows us to work together throughout the cherished newborn stage, baby’s first milestones, and ultimately your sweet little one’s first birthday. You’ll spend time together as a family creating cherished memories in front of the camera, leaving you with gorgeous images to hang on the walls of your home throughout the years to come.
Where will the session take place?
Maternity photography in Boston can unfold in a number of spaces. I offer the option of capturing maternity photos in your home, in a photography studio, or at a gorgeous outdoor location around Boston, such as a beach or a park. Overall, the time of year we schedule your photoshoot may drive your preference of location, with outdoor photos widely occurring during spring & summer.
